Young and future interpreters had the chance to network with AIIC representatives including AIIC President Uros Peterc. The 80 attendees included all previous young interpreters awardees (from 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), three mentor/mentee tandems, 14 of AIIC Germany’s 29 precandidates, and at least 5 colleagues who are in the process of submitting their pre-candidacy. AIIC’s Sign Language Network held an informative event on sign language interpreting at the European Parliament, Brussels, on 4 December. The event – Everything you ever wanted to know about Sign Language Interpreting but never got around to asking – was kindly hosted by Helga Stevens, MEP. Organised for interpreters by interpreters to share information and best practices, the session was well attended by both sign and spoken language interpreters. Congratulations to Maya de Wit and Oliver Pouliot for organising.
