Cartagena, Colombia

Hotel Intercontinental

Organised by
Private Market Sector Standing Committee

AIIC’s Private Market Sector (PRIMS) represents members, candidates and pre-candidates of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC). These interpreters work for national and international corporations, associations, ministries and private entities and make up what is known collectively as the “private market”.

On 21 July, from 8:30 to 17:30, PRIMS is pleased to invite all those interested in the profession to participate in its Symposium on the Future of Interpreting, open to all stakeholders in the interpreting community: conference interpreters regardless of whether they are members of AIIC or not, community and legal interpreters, researchers, equipment providers, event planners, decision-makers and students. Together, we aim to explore possible future developments in professional interpretation, new technologies and their impact, emerging geopolitical and social trends, as well as their effect on the use of languages and interpreter hiring policies.

The symposium will be followed, at 18:00, by a cocktail for all participants.
